Join us for the The Big Portuguese Adventure, a brand-new Moto Junkies tour exploring Portugal’s hidden gems. From pine forests and rugged mountains to sweeping coastal trails and golden dunes, this ride offers the best of Portugal’s diverse landscapes.
Stay in the historic town of Alcobaça, home to the largest monastery in Portugal and a stone’s throw from lively cafés, bars, and restaurants. Each day brings a new adventure — you’ll be exploring the towering dunes of São Pedro de Moel to the walled city of Óbidos, the breathtaking Fornea valley, and the pine-covered trails of the Candeeiros Natural Park. Along the way, you’ll enjoy delicious local food, relaxed coffee stops, and incredible views.

ITINERARY
DAY 1 | ARRIVAL
Arrive at HQ to meet the team and select your motorcycle. Depending on time and rider experience, there may be a short orientation ride. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with the group.
DAY 2 | OBIDOS & COASTAL RIDE
Arrive at HQ after breakfast for briefing. Full day tour including: Obidos Lagoon, the walled city of Óbidos, coastal roads to Foz do Arelho, São Martinho do Porto, and Nazaré (home to the world’s biggest waves, up to 37m). Approx. 150 km with lunch and coffee stops en route.
DAY 3 | SALINAS & NATURAL PARK TRAILS
Full-day tour to Salinas Rio Maior. Ride through forest trails and the Natural Park of Aire and Candeeiros Mountains, with the option to stop at the beautiful Mira de Aire Caves. Approx. 150 km with lunch and coffee stops.
DAY 4 | DUNES & TRAILS OF SAO PEDRO DE MOEL
Early start, departing at 9:00am in the VW Transporter with bikes on the trailer. Explore São Pedro de Moel and visit the famous “Englishman’s Well.” Experience riding the 100m-high dunes and nearby trails before crossing breathtaking coastal landscapes. Bikes are left in Leiria, with transport back to the hotel provided.
DAY 5 – FORNEA & MOUNTAIN VALLEYS
A long, rewarding ride across mountains and valleys from Leiria to Fornea, before returning to HQ in Alcobaça. A highlight day offering some of the most spectacular riding of the tour.
DAY 6 – PINE FORESTS & FAREWELL RIDE
Final day’s ride through pine forests, climbing gradually into the Candeeiros Natural Park. Enjoy a farewell lunch at Casa Velha in Valle de Ventos — renowned for its outstanding, authentic local food. After a leisurely meal, ride back down easy trails to Alcobaça, ending the day with a celebratory glass of wine together.
DAY 7 – DEPARTURE
Checkout and transfer to the airport.

This tour includes the hire of a Husqvarna Enduro Bike. Available bikes include the FE250 (4-stroke) (2 lowered options), the 3 x FE350 (4-stroke) and 4 TE300 (2 Stroke). Also available is the Husqvarna 701 Super Enduro (1 lowered).

This is a varied ride of road and trail with rocky sections and some sand.
