Ride with us into this astonishing region as we take you through the most scenic and diverse routes from the Himalayas to Karakoram. You will experience the thrill of riding through remote and unmatched landscapes and exploring the local cultures as we travel.
This is motorcycle adventure at its prime, taking you far away from our modern world and into a land of mountains and valleys steeped in history and wonder. The Karakoram Highway is a legendary road that is written about in adventure travel books and magazines. The BIG Pakistan Adventure will open the door for you to experience this enequelled remote area for yourself. It is one of the most spectacular riding experiences in the world.
Our adventure will take you through dramatic mountain landscapes, winding roads, and remote valleys surrounded by some of the highest peaks on Earth, passing alongside the mighty Indus River before entering the breathtaking Hunza Valley.
Riding northward, you will be treated to stunning views of glaciers, rugged cliffs, and traditional mountain villages. Reaching Passu, the iconic Passu Cones rise sharply against the sky.
Combining challenging roads, rich local culture, and awe-inspiring scenery, this adventure tour offers a true taste of Pakistan’s northern wilderness.
As always the MOTO Junkies team camaraderie will be in full flow with support from the team at A Different Agenda in Pakistan.
The standard motorcycle is a Honda CB 150F. Upgrade to a CFMOTO 450 MT IBEX if you prefer.

ITINERARY
DAY 1: 04 Oct
ARRIVAL IN ISLAMABAD / AIRPORT TRANSFERS
Arrive in Islamabad where our team will receive you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel.
Take the day to settle in, meet the group, and explore the capital. Visit the Faisal Mosque, grab a good meal, and take care of any last-minute prep before heading into the mountains.
DAY 2: 05 Oct
ISLAMABAD TO SKARDU (FLIGHT)
We take an early morning flight into Skardu, one of the most dramatic mountain gateways in the region.

DAY 3: 06 Oct
SKARDU TO DEOSAI NATIONAL PARK TO TARISHING
We ride out of Skardu toward the vast high-altitude plains of Deosai National Park.
Highlights:

Deosai Plateau (one of the highest in the world)

Wide open landscapes, rolling grasslands, river crossings
-
Possible wildlife sightings
-
Nanga Parbat (Rupal side)
From Deosai we descend toward the Rupal Valley and continue to Tarishing village.
This is one of the most raw and remote days of the tour.
Approx riding: 160–190 km
DAY 4: 07 Oct
TARISHING TO NOMAL
We ride out of Tarishing through Rupal Valley and descend into Astore before connecting to the Indus River corridor.
From here we continue toward Jaglot, join the Karakoram Highway, and ride onward to Nomal.

Overnight in the quiet village of Nomal.

DAY 5: 08 Oct
NOMAL TO PASSU
We ride onto the Karakoram Highway and head north through Gilgit into Hunza.

First sight of Passu Cones
Overnight in Passu.
Approx riding: 140 km
DAY 6: 09 Oct
PASSU TO KHUNJERAB PASS TO PASSU
We ride deeper into Upper Hunza toward the China border.
Highlights:

Khunjerab National Park

Khunjerab Pass (15,400 ft)

Pak-China border
-
Wide open high altitude terrain
-
Wildlife sightings (ibex, marmots)
Return to Passu for the night.
Approx riding: 250 km
DAY 7: 10 Oct
PASSU TO SHIMSHAL TO HUNZA
We leave the highway and head into the legendary Shimshal Valley.
Highlights:

Narrow carved cliffside sections

River crossings and exposure

Remote high-mountain village experience
After riding to Shimshal, we return the same way and continue to Karimabad in Hunza.

DAY 8: 11 Oct
HUNZA REST DAY
A slower day off the bikes.

DAY 9: 12 Oct
HUNZA TO SATRANGI LAKE TO NALTAR
We ride back toward Gilgit and climb into Naltar Valley.

Satrangi Lake (multi-colored alpine lake)

Cooler pine forest terrain
Overnight in Naltar.
Approx riding: 90–120 km
DAY 10: 13 Oct
NALTAR TO SKARDU
We descend from Naltar, rejoin the Karakoram Highway, and ride back toward Skardu via Jaglot.

Long flowing ride back into Skardu

DAY 11: 14 Oct
SKARDU TO ISLAMABAD (FLIGHT)
We take a scenic flight back to Islamabad.
On a clear day, expect incredible aerial views of the Karakoram and Himalayan ranges.
Final night in Islamabad.
DAY 12: 15 Oct
DEPARTURE
Airport transfers are arranged based on your flight timings.
End of tour.
