ITINERARY
DAY 1 | MALAGA – CHEFCHUAN | 162 miles
We’ll enjoy a relaxed coastal ride to Algeciras, passing Gibraltar before boarding the ferry to Morocco. After arriving in Africa, we’ll sort the boring stuff before riding a scenic rural route toward our destination in Chefchaouen.
DAY 2 | CHEFCHUAN – MIDELT | 256 miles
Today’s ride takes us through farmland, past the edges of Fes, and into the cedar forests of Ifrane National Park. We’ll finish the day on the national route network, with the stunning Atlas Mountains coming into view as we approach our overnight stop.
DAY 3 | MIDELT – IMILCHIL | 117 miles
Ride deep into the remote Atlas Mountains via the stunning Cirque de Jaffar trail. Expect high-altitude adventure, breathtaking scenery, and visits to isolated mountain villages before reaching Imilchil for the night. A challenging and rewarding day at up to 8,690ft.
DAY 4 | IMILCHIL – OUARZAZATE | 229 miles
A spectacular day of riding through Morocco’s most iconic gorges. Descend the dramatic Todra Gorge, pause for tea beneath towering cliffs, then take on the twists of the Dades Gorge. Finish the ride between the High Atlas and Jebel Saghro mountains—sunset optional, but unforgettable.
DAY 5 | THE OUARZAZATE LOOP | 173 miles
A high-altitude loop through the scenic Jebel Sirwa mountains. Ride varied terrain, from winding roads to remote pistes, crossing the impressive Tizi n’Melloul pass before descending towards Ouarzazate. Not a designated rest day, but you can make it one if you need to.
DAY 6 | OUARZAZATE – ZAGORA | 116 miles
A steady ride towards Zagora, with an easy mix of road and light piste. Today’s all about prepping for tomorrow—arrive early to relax, stock up, or get your bike checked over before the big day ahead.
DAY 7 | ZAGORA – MERZOUGA | 180 miles
One of the most iconic desert crossings of the trip. We’ll head deep into the northern Sahara, riding through vast, remote landscapes of sand, stone, and isolation. With Algeria on one side and the open plains on the other, it’s a challenging day that demands preparation, focus, and a sense of adventure. Expect long hours, epic views, and an experience you'll never forget.
DAY 8 | REST DAY
Today’s a rest day – if you want it. Take time to relax, explore the area, or join the crew for some optional dune bashing or trail scouting. Whether you ride or recharge, make sure your bike’s ready – we’ve still got a long way to go before we’re back in mainland Europe.
DAY 9 | MERZOUGA – ERRACHIDA | 170 miles
We kick off with a ride to Gara Medouar – a dramatic eroded rock formation steeped in history and movie fame. After a scenic climb and maybe a chat with local traders, we head north and east via a mix of road and trail to reach Errachidia for the night.
DAY 10 | ERRACHIDA – FES | 212 miles
Today we ride north through the scenic Ziz Gorge, passing Midelt and retracing parts of our earlier route—though it might feel brand new by now. We finish the day in the historic city of Fes, with time to explore its ancient streets and vibrant atmosphere.
DAY 11 | FES – CHEFCHAOUEN | 121 miles
We start the day with a slower pace, taking time to wander Fes as it comes to life. Then we hit the road, winding through rural landscapes and rolling hills, making our way back to Chefchaouen for our final night in Africa.
DAY 10 | CHEFCHAOUEN – MALAGA | 162 miles
We retrace our route back to the ferry, minds full of memories from mountains to desert. After crossing back into Europe, we head to our hotel in Malaga for a final night of food, wine, and celebration—marking the end of an unforgettable Moto Junkies adventure.
