The Big Portuguese Adventure

Join us for an 10-day trip - 13th to the 23rd October 2025

A fully supported adventure ride along the famously beautiful trails of Portugal riding your own bike. We will transport your bike and luggage while you fly in and join us in Chaves. Your luggage will then be carried by our support vehicle between hotels, so you can enjoy the lighter side of riding! If you prefer, you can ride over and join us at the start.

(If choosing the bike transportation option - bikes must be similar in size to a CRF250/300, Husqvarna FE350 etc. No bigger as transport space is limited).

We can't wait to go back to Portugal and take on those stunning trails and twisty roads again! This country is so biker friendly and it's as if it were made with bikers in mind!

Arrive on the 7th and start riding the following day. Our ride will take us nine days in total (including an optional rest day) and will include (but not exclusively) some sections of the TET and the ACT.

Accommodation will be varied, comfortable, and generally picturesque. You will be sharing a room with at least one other. Our aim is to provide twin rooms, but there may be occasions where we have to increase that, depending on availability. You can pay a single supplement, but we would rather you share if you can as this will open up more options for us in the more rural areas. Room sharing always sounds unappealing, but I have made some amazing friends this way in the past. Be open to the idea.

We will start in Chaves and head south near the Spanish border towards Monsanto, finishing back in Chaves on the 17th for our last night celebrations. Depart the following day.

Airport transfer will be arranged for the group at a set time from Porto to Chaves and back. You will need to liaise with us before you book your flights. Should you wish to arrive at a different time, we can advise you on transport options. The drive is under two hours.

Am I a good enough rider?

You will need some off-road experience for this trip, but you don't need to be a Dakar rider either. The trails should be easy to moderate, with some small technical sections. We have a great team who will support you through any sections you might find you are unsure of. There could be long days in the saddle so you need to be generally fit. If you are unsure, please call Steph before booking on 07378 352731.

What will I need to bring?

We will send a full kit list before the event, but you will need your own dual-sport bike, your own kit (including bladder and off-road boots), and a suitable puncture repair kit.

You WILL need suitable tyres and we recommend something in the region of a 50/50 dual-sport.
