Biker Breaks (with catering)

@MotoCamp Wales

Stay at our biker base in Snowdonia National Park

Fancy a biker break with your friends? MotoCamp Wales is the perfect place to base your motorcycle tour of Snowdonia and get away from it all for a long weekend or even a week. Based in Dolgellau, we are right in the heart of famously twisty, world-class biking roads, and an abundance of scenic green lanes and byways.

Why not do both? Snowdonia is motorcycle heaven so you can't go wrong with whichever style of riding you choose.

We offer two 3-bedroom lodges (with twin beds) with fully equipped kitchens and spacious living rooms. Each lodge has two bathrooms. We can take a maximum of 12 in the lodges.

  • The minimum group size is 4. The maximum is 12 in lodges.

  • Hire bikes are available but only available with one of our local guides.

  • Jet wash, bike storage, additional changing rooms, a drying room, and showers are available on-site.

  • Ask us about long-term bike storage for your bike.

  • Guided trips - The price below is based on 2 days of guided road or trail riding with a local guide. Please contact us if you prefer a variation on this. Sweepers are also provided for larger groups. Mechanic and trail recovery on hand.

  • Catering - The price below is based on self cook breakfast (bacon, eggs, bread, butter, cereal, tea&coffee provided) and a two-course evening meal.

If you would like something specific, like a barbeque, outdoor pizza night, or an upgrade to a 3-course evening meal with wine etc then please just ask. Availability depends on group size etc.

Location and things to do during your stay

Why not stay an extra day or two (hell, why not make it a week!) and take in even more of the natural beauty of the area.

Dolgellau is one of the most beautiful places in Snowdonia. It may not be one of the top towns people think of when they book their ‘staycation’ in North Wales, some just think all Snowdonia has to offer is Snowdon. Sometimes Southern Snowdonia gets a bit left out, but it’s just as stunning as the North. It’s not quite the ‘Riviera’ of Snowdonia, but obviously we are nearer the Equator!

It’s a fabulous base to explore Snowdonia. If you want mountain biking you have everything including the flat Mawddach Trail which follows the old railway bed to the lovely seaside town of Barmouth. If hurtling down hills on two wheels is your thing, then Dolgellau is the nearest town to Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre and further north you have the rugged slate tracks of Antur Stiniog in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Many of the prettiest walks are only a few minutes drive away including Torrent Walk & Precipice Walk, both popular since Victorian and Edwardian Times. There are others including New Precipice Walk with stunning views of the Mawddach Estuary 800 feet below. This has one of the best views in the area. If you fancy a proper hike, then why not take on the second highest mountain in Wales - Cadair Idris.
